Muizzu Unveils Plans to Boost Thaa Atoll Economy with Jobs

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has outlined plans to bolster the economy of Thaa Atoll and foster employment opportunities in the region.
Addressing concerns raised by Aishath Rauna, a resident of Th. Kinbidhoo, during an interactive session on the Q&A platform ‘Raeesge Javaab’, Muizzu acknowledged the dearth of job opportunities prompting many residents to relocate to Male’ after completing their higher studies.
Rauna lamented the necessity for Thaa Atoll residents to seek employment outside their atolls despite the availability of educational resources like A-levels in Veymandoo.
In response, Muizzu underscored his commitment to enabling young individuals to secure employment within their respective atolls. He acknowledged the pressing need to expand industries within Thaa Atoll to address the unemployment issue.
Furthermore, Muizzu shed light on his administration’s efforts to foster a creator economy in the Maldives, allowing the country’s youth to market their talents globally.
During his recent three-day visit to Thaa Atoll, Muizzu pledged to initiate several developmental projects aimed at enhancing the region’s economic landscape. These initiatives include the construction of additional resorts, the establishment of a causeway linking Veymandoo and Kinbidhoo, and the provision of increased opportunities for higher education.
Muizzu’s commitment to revitalising the economy of Thaa Atoll reflects his administration’s proactive stance towards addressing unemployment and fostering sustainable growth in the region.
