Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the People’s National Congress’ (PNC) presidential candidate, has unveiled an initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of resort employees.
During a campaign rally held at L. Gan, Dr. Muizzu pledged to introduce a retirement allowance scheme, tailored specifically for those working in the resort industry.
This proposed retirement allowance will be developed in close collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders, with the objective of providing resort employees a retirement package.
Dr. Muizzu emphasised that this initiative would not only benefit the dedicated employees but also have positive implications for the resort industry as a whole.
In a bid to further improve the lives of resort workers, Dr. Muizzu announced plans for the construction of special housing units across various regions of the country, catering specifically to the needs of these employees.
Addressing the importance of enabling resort workers to spend quality time with their families, Dr. Muizzu outlined an innovative approach.
His government intends to introduce flexible leave policies, wherein employees can enjoy an eight-day leave for every three months of accrued off days, in addition to their annual leave and school holidays. To facilitate these policies, necessary legal changes will be implemented.
