MWSC aims to complete the building by the end of September. Upon completion, the facility will house two Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, each capable of producing 5,000 tonnes of water daily.
The company highlighted that this new RO facility represents a major advancement in improving water service reliability for Male’ and Hulhumale’. Its goal is to provide uninterrupted, sustainable, and clean drinking water alongside safe sewerage services to all residents.
Established in 1995, MWSC is the main government-owned provider of water and sewerage services in the capital. Beyond Male’, the company also supplies water and sewerage services to three other islands and electricity to one island, serving a population of approximately 200,000 people.
Initially focused solely on water and sewerage services, MWSC has since expanded its operations to include engineering, trading, and manufacturing. It now designs, installs, and operates water and sewerage systems, in addition to fabricating its own water plants.
