The Maldives National Anti-Corruption Academy was inaugurated today by the President to coincide with International Anti-Corruption Day. Recognizing the challenge posed by the scarcity of trained individuals in the fight against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Commission has established this academy as an institution dedicated to addressing this issue.

The academy, designed to align with its vision, objectives, and strategic action plan, seeks to combat corruption by training qualified professionals and raising public awareness. Approval from the Ministry of Higher Education has been secured, and an operational partnership has been formalised with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

An independent trust fund dedicated to anti-corruption efforts was established and officially launched during the inauguration ceremony. The primary objective of this trust fund is to ensure the autonomy of anti-corruption investigations and training, free from reliance on the state budget.
