In a campaign rally held at Gadhdhoo, the Maldives National Party’s (MNP) presidential candidate, Mohamed Nazim, unveiled a proposal to link the GDh. Maavarulu Airport with Gadhdhoo Island via a bridge if he is elected to office.

Despite both locations being situated in the same lagoon, a considerable 431-kilometer expanse currently separates them. Nazim emphasised that the development of Gadhdhoo hinges on the enhancement of Maavarulu Airport and its integration with Gadhdhoo, vowing to bolster flight operations at the airport.

Nazim also highlighted the need for improvements to the Maavarulu Airport near Gaddu. He expressed his conviction that the Maldives has untapped potential for growth and intends to bring about significant economic changes if elected.

Nazim concluded by emphasising that the MNP’s approach is not centered around centralizing activities in Male’, opting instead for a more inclusive strategy to drive progress throughout the Maldives.
