Imad Solih, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Agency (NDA), has been dismissed from his position by the agency’s newly established board.
The decision was made during the board’s inaugural meeting last week, chaired by Lubna Zahir Hussain.
According to Lubna, the board’s decision followed a comprehensive performance review of the NDA’s activities, focusing on its efforts to align with government policies on drug control. Concerns regarding unfinished tasks and delays in addiction treatment services were key factors considered during the evaluation.
All board members were in agreement regarding Solih’s dismissal.
The board aso agreed to appoint a new CEO to replace Imad within 90 days. In the meantime, Deputy Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Mohamed Rashid will assume the responsibilities of CEO.
