Lubna highlighted that the sale of such controlled substances is a violation of the Drug Act.

Buprenorphine is a powerful opioid prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain and is more commonly used in managing opioid use disorder, including addiction to heroin or morphine. It acts as a partial agonist-antagonist at opioid receptors, reducing withdrawal symptoms and cravings, while lowering the risk of misuse as it does not produce the full euphoric effects associated with other opioids.
