This initiative aims to assist individuals in preparing for electoral participation, as per the request of the ECM.
In adherence to the established procedure, records submitted via e-mail will be processed, and responses will be conveyed through the same medium. Candidates are urged by the Department to submit their applications promptly, considering that the clearance process across all Maldivian courts typically takes five days.
Scheduled to take effect on 17 December 2023, this measure aims to streamline and expedite the record clearance process. Furthermore, the ECM is actively engaged in efforts to facilitate the resolution of candidates’ records ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections, with plans to disclose pertinent information to the public in due course.
