New Maldivian High Commissioner Presents Credentials to Bangladesh’s President
The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Maldives to Bangladesh, Shiuneen Rasheed, formally presented her Letters of Credence to President Mohammed Shahabuddin during a special ceremony held yesterday at the Presidential Palace, Bangabhaban.
In a warm reception following the formal proceedings, President Shahabuddin congratulated High Commissioner Rasheed on her new appointment as the High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to Bangladesh.
In response, High Commissioner Rasheed expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to President Shahabuddin and the people of Bangladesh.
During her remarks, High Commissioner Rasheed reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two countries, which dates back to the establishment of diplomatic ties on 22 September 1978. She also highlighted the importance of exploring new avenues for cooperation and collaboration between the two nations.
High Commissioner Rasheed is the seventh Maldivian High Commissioner to serve in Bangladesh.
