Effective from 5th February, the revised regulation aims to streamline procedures concerning the care and guardianship of fostered children. This alteration underscores the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare and support provided to children under state care.

This follows the launch of the Ministry’s initiative last December, which aims to offer temporary foster care for children in state custody. The initiative, titled “A Family for Every Child,” seeks to provide a nurturing family environment for children currently under state supervision.

Prospective foster parents are encouraged to contact the Ministry via the dedicated hotline number, 1433, to express their interest and provide their details. The Ministry aims to match children in state custody with families willing to offer either temporary or permanent care arrangements.

Individuals opting for temporary fostering commitments will be entrusted with the care and well-being of the child for a duration of two years. This initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring the best possible outcomes for children in need of temporary care arrangements.
