New Transport Timings in Male’ City Announced for Ramadan

The government has announced specific time slots for transporting goods in Male’ City during Ramadan.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade stated that goods can be transported between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm, and from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. These timings will be in effect from the first day of Ramadan until the 19th, and during the first seven days of Shawwal.

The restricted hours for transporting goods are from 6:00 am to 9:30 am and from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

A different schedule will be implemented during the last 10 days of Ramadan. From the 20th of Ramadan until the end of the month, goods can be transported from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. The restricted hours will remain from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade explained that these time slots were set after consultations with the Ministry of Transport and the police.

Ramadan is a busy period for businesses, leading to an increase in the transportation of goods and vehicle traffic in Male’. The designated time slots are intended to reduce road congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow.
