Maldives Police Service (MPS) have confirmed that no arrests have been made following an outbreak of violence involving supporters of Kuda Henveiru during a quarter-final match of the second division held at Galolhu football stadium yesterday.

Media reports indicated that the supporters breached the field in protest, citing dissatisfaction with the referee’s handling of the incident, particularly as Victory maintained a 3-1 lead.

In response to the disturbance, authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. However, as today, no individuals have been detained in connection with the incident.

Amidst the chaos, Kuda Henveiru supporters targeted Victory’s coach, Hussain Sobah, in an altercation.

Efforts were made to resume the match following the disruption, but ultimately it was called off.

The fate of the match now rests with an emergency committee overseeing the tournament.

The victor of the halted match is slated to meet New Radiant in the semi-final scheduled for next Monday.
