Nominations Open for President’s Award for Special Achievement

The President’s Office has announced that nominations for this year’s President’s Award for Special Achievement will open on August 1st. 

The award aims to recognise individuals whose skills and performance contribute significantly to national pride and progress. Nominations will be reviewed by the Special Awards Committee.

Recipients will be honoured during an official ceremony marking this year’s Republic Day. According to the President’s Office, nominations can be submitted until 2:00 PM on September 16th. Nominations can be submitted through the application portal on the President’s Office website.

This year, the President’s Award for Special Achievement will be presented in four categories. The first category is for individuals who have made significant achievements in higher education and training. The second category is for individuals who have excelled or attained the highest rank in an international competition or exhibition. The third category is for innovative and enterprising individuals who have provided practical solutions through academic research addressing critical national challenges. The fourth category is for exceptional creativity and innovation that enhance national development.

The President’s Office has emphasised the importance of submitting relevant supporting documents alongside the application form. This request has come from the Special Awards Committee. All documents must be attested as copies of the original by a lawyer registered with the Bar Council of Maldives. This applies whether the documents are written on one side or both sides.
