The government has declared November 2 a public holiday, resulting in a four-day Victory Day break.
November 3 is observed annually in the Maldives as Victory Day, commemorating the foiled 1988 terror attack.
The President’s Office announced on Thursday that government offices will be closed on November 2.
The timing of the holiday creates an extended break for government employees, as it falls between the weekend and Victory Day.
