NSPA Assists 291 People With Therapeutic Treatment in December 2025
The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) provided therapeutic treatment assistance to 291 people in December 2025, the agency said on Monday.
According to the NSPA, 159 of the beneficiaries were male and 72 were female. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 made up the majority of recipients, with 221 people receiving support, including 156 boys and 65 girls. The agency assisted 10 adults aged between 18 and 64, comprising three men and seven women. No applications or recipients were recorded among those aged 65 and above.
Occupational therapy accounted for the highest expenditure during the month, with spending totalling MVR 2,157,226 for 143 treatments provided to 104 males and 39 females. Behavioural therapy followed closely, with 125 treatments costing MVR 2,111,800, benefiting 92 males and 33 females.
Spending on speech therapy amounted to MVR 1,841,526 for 118 treatments, while educational therapy cost MVR 1,074,695 for 64 treatments. The agency also spent MVR 244,650 on 21 psychotherapy treatments and MVR 79,210 on eight physiotherapy sessions. Early intervention services recorded the lowest expenditure at MVR 76,700 for nine treatments.
