The move was announced during a ceremony at the Maldives Innovation and Digital Company (Mindco), which operates oneGov. The shift marks the first step in a wider digital transformation of NSPA’s operations.
The services now available on oneGov include financial assistance for single mothers or fathers living in poverty, financial assistance for children living in poverty and cared for by others, financial support for low-income individuals to purchase food, assistance for people with disabilities, and support for therapeutic treatment for people with disabilities.
Applications for these services can still be submitted directly to NSPA using physical forms, but the services will permanently transition to oneGov from January following awareness campaigns. Additional NSPA services are expected to move to the platform in the near future.
