NSPA Reports 165 New Disability Registrations in July

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) revealed that 165 new registrations were added to the disability registry in July, bringing the total number of registered individuals to 14,566.

Of these, 14,386 people received financial aid totalling MVR 52,306,000, marking an increase of approximately MVR 1 million compared with June, when 14,236 people received MVR 51,215,000 in support. In June, 125 new registrations were recorded.

The NSPA also reported that 380 people received therapeutic care in July, with aid amounting to MVR 11,893,527. Additionally, 60 people received therapeutic care with prescription medication, receiving MVR 434,715 in total. In comparison, June saw 108 individuals receive therapeutic care worth MVR 4,055,000, while 55 people received therapeutic care with prescription medication, totalling MVR 385,302.

The disability registry currently includes 14,566 individuals. Among those under 18, 1,471 are women and 3,407 are men, bringing the total in this age group to 4,874. For those aged 18 to 64, 3,599 women and 3,822 men are registered, with a total of 7,421 individuals. Overall, the registry comprises 6,095 women and 8,471 men.

The agency highlighted that these figures reflect ongoing efforts to provide financial support and healthcare services to people with disabilities across the country.
