The funding was provided as additional financial assistance beyond standard Aasandha coverage to patients in need.
According to data shared by the NSPA, the agency assisted 190 patients admitted to ADK Hospital last month, with total support amounting to MVR 3.2 million. The largest share of this aid was directed towards cardiac patients, with MVR 994,871 issued to support treatment for 14 individuals.
Among those admitted at ADK Hospital, the most common treatment categories included orthopaedic cases and childbirth, with 27 cases each. Additionally, there were 18 patients treated for gastrointestinal conditions and 16 for respiratory diseases.
At Tree Top Hospital, the NSPA provided MVR 4.1 million in support for in-patient care. The largest portion of this funding was directed to orthopaedic patients, totalling MVR 1,221,484 across 32 cases.
Childbirth was the most common reason for admission at Tree Top Hospital, with 64 cases reported. Orthopaedic cases followed at 53, while 40 gastrointestinal cases were also treated during the same period.
While NSPA issued MVR 7.4 million in aid for June alone, total Aasandha expenditure in the first five months of the year has reached MVR 950 million. The Aasandha scheme has an annual budget of MVR 1.8 billion.
