Odi Sports Club Wins President’s Cup in Penalty Shootout Thriller

Odi Sports Club won the President’s Cup after defeating Maziya Sports and Recreation Club 6–5 on penalties in the final held at the National Stadium this evening, attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu attended the final match and closing ceremony of the President’s Cup football tournament at the National Stadium this evening. Before kick-off, the President met with the players and match officials.
After an intense encounter, Odi Sports Club secured the championship with a 6–5 victory on penalties.
At the closing ceremony, President Muizzu presented the championship trophy and medals to the winning team.
First held in 1946, the President’s Cup marks its 80th anniversary this year, commemorating eight decades of football competition in the Maldives.
