Ooredoo Celebrates International Older Persons Day with Israhvehinge Naadhee
Ooredoo Maldives has launched a series of initiatives aimed at empowering the elderly and promoting community engagement, in celebration of International Older Persons Day.
The activities, organized under Ooredoo’s long-term commitment to social responsibility, include a Grow with Ooredoo session, a Digital Partnership Announcement, and a Book Donation event, all held at Naadhee in Malé.

Grow with Ooredoo: Backyard Gardening for the Elderly
In collaboration with the Ministry of Social and Family Development, Ooredoo Maldives hosted a special Grow with Ooredoo session, focused on Backyard Gardening. Tailored specifically for the elderly, the session was designed to promote environmental sustainability while fostering a sense of community through shared gardening practices. Participants learned techniques for creating and maintaining their own gardens at home, with a particular emphasis on easy-to-manage, sustainable methods that contribute to local biodiversity. The initiative not only encouraged active lifestyles among older individuals but also emphasized the importance of connecting with nature for improved well-being.
Digital Partnership Announcement: Enabling Connectivity
Ooredoo Maldives also announced a new Digital Partnership at Naadhee, aimed at enhancing connectivity for the elderly. The partnership will ensure better access to Ooredoo’s telecommunications and digital services for residents and enable connectivity for their events
Book Donation to Build a Library Corner at Naadhee
As part of its commitment to fostering lifelong learning, Ooredoo Maldives also donated a collection of books to help build a Library Corner at Naadhee Male’. The donation will support efforts to provide older residents with access to reading materials, helping to stimulate minds and provide enjoyment through literature. The new library corner is expected to be a welcoming space for seniors to spend time, explore new topics, and engage in intellectual activities.
