Ooredoo Nation Games Land Kicks Off, Offering MVR 240,000 Prize Pool

The Maldives’ largest gaming festival, Ooredoo Nation Games Land, commenced last Thursday night, bringing together top gamers and teams to compete for a total prize pool of MVR 240,000 in the Ooredoo Nation Contender Series.

The festival features tournaments in PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and EAFC, alongside a cosplay competition. In addition to the tournament prizes, the event will also recognise the Best Player of the Year.

The Ooredoo Nation Contender Series offers a MVR 50,000 prize for the champion, while the second-place winner will receive MVR 20,000. The third and fourth-place winners will receive MVR 15,000 and MVR 10,000, respectively. The winners of the MLBB and EAFC tournaments will each receive MVR 20,000, with the second and third-place winners taking home MVR 15,000 and MVR 10,000. The MVPs of the three tournaments will also receive MVR 5,000 each.

The festival’s cosplay competition will award the top participants, with the first-place winner receiving MVR 5,000. The second-place winner will receive MVR 3,000, and the third-place winner will be awarded MVR 2,000. Additionally, the Ooredoo Nation Ultimate Player will be named at the event, with a grand prize of MVR 30,000.

Following its successful debut last year, Ooredoo Nation has continued to expand its gaming initiatives by organising various esports tournaments throughout the year. The platform was launched to promote gaming and create opportunities for Maldivians in the local and international esports scene.
