Ooredoo Nation Inter-Resort eSports Championship 2025 Begins This Weekend

The Ooredoo Nation Inter-Resort eSports Championship 2025 is set to kick off this weekend on Friday, 9th May, and on Saturday, 10th May, uniting gaming enthusiasts from across the Maldives’ vibrant resort community. This year’s tournament is the first ever tournament of this kind for the resort community.
The tournament will see 16 teams from 10 resorts, showcasing the best of inter-resort gaming talent in two of the most popular mobile esports titles — Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and PUBG Mobile (PUBGM).
“The two-day championship will reinforce Ooredoo Nation’s mission to foster digital engagement, inclusion, and friendly competition across the nation’s diverse workforce.” Ooredoo said in their statement.
Tournament Format & Highlights:
MLBB: A single-elimination bracket featuring knockout rounds, with semifinals played Friday night and the 3rd Place Playoff and Grand Final held Saturday evening.
PUBGM: A Battle Royale format, with the Grand Finals split across two days, featuring six matches on Friday and six more on Saturday.
Prize Pool:
- 🥇 Champion – MVR 5,000
- 🥈 Runner-Up – MVR 3,000
- 🥉 Third Place – MVR 2,000
Matches will be livestreamed on Ooredoo Nation’s YouTube attracting fans and colleagues from across the archipelago to witness the action and support their resort representatives.
“The Inter-Resort Championship is part of Ooredoo Nation’s broader vision to expand the local esports scene by making it more accessible, inclusive, and professionally rewarding — from resorts to remote islands and beyond,” the company stated in its announcement.
