Order of Presidential Candidates Appearing on Ballot Determined

The draw determining the order of contenders for the coming presidential election has taken place today at Dharubaaruge.

A total of eight candidates have emerged as the hopefuls in this year’s presidential election. Among them are five individuals nominated by various political parties, while the remaining three have taken the independent route.

Candidates in Numerical Order:

1. Umar Naseer – Independent
2. Hassan Zameel – Independent
3. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih – Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)
4. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu – People’s National Congress (PNC)
5. Qasim Ibrahim – Jumhooree Party (JP)
6. Ahmed Faris Maumoon – Independent
7. Ilyas Labeeb – The Democrats
8. Mohamed Nazim – Maldives National Party (MNP)

The presidential election is scheduled for the 9th of next month.
