The poll, which gathered insights from a cross-section of residents, highlighted a range of sleep patterns.
Notably, 14.81% of participants reported sleeping for less than 5 hours, while a significant 44.44% averaged between 5 to 6 hours of sleep. The survey further disclosed that 29.63% of individuals maintained a sleep duration of 6 to 7 hours, with 11.11% achieving the recommended 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
However, no respondents reported sleeping for more than 8 hours.
It is evident that a significant portion of respondents falls short of the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep per night, with almost 15% reporting less than 5 hours of sleep.
According to established guidelines, babies aged 4 months to 1 year old are advised to sleep for 12 to 16 hours per day. Children aged 1 to 2 years should aim for 11 to 14 hours of sleep daily, while those aged 3 to 5 years are recommended to have a sleep duration of 10 to 13 hours per day.
Children aged 6 to 12 years are encouraged to get 9 to 12 hours of sleep each night. For teenagers aged 13 to 18 years, the recommended sleep duration is 8 to 10 hours per night. Finally, adults aged 18 and above are advised to aim for a nightly sleep duration between 7 and 9 hours.
