Over MVR 700K Raised on TikTok Live for Medical Treatment of Woman Injured in Fall

Over MVR 700,000 was raised on TikTok live yesterday for the medical treatment of the 21-year-old who fell from a building to the roof of a warehouse in Male’ on April 18.
Local influencer Shehenaz Moosa announced in a celebratory post on Meta that she raised MVR 565,501.21 and USD 11,015.95 during her TikTok live, which began at 7:30 p.m. yesterday when the victim’s family joined. She said the total amount collected reached MVR 735,367.16.
In an interview with Sun Online, Shehenaz said she held the live session to support a fellow citizen.
The 21-year-old woman, who had been receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), was transferred to Malaysia yesterday for further medical care.
So far, police have detained one individual, 21-year-old Raudh Ahmed Zilal, who was with her at Henveiru Fentonia, the building from which she fell. He has been ordered to remain in police custody for five days. Police have also seized the passports of seven other individuals connected to the case and barred them from leaving the country.
