Parking Restrictions Announced on Hulhulé Ahead of VIA Opening

Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has announced temporary parking restrictions on Hulhulé Island as part of preparations for the official opening of the new passenger terminal at Velana International Airport, scheduled for 26 July 2025.
According to the announcement, parking will be suspended in designated areas on both the east and west sides of Hulhulé Island beginning 17 July. The measure is intended to support logistical arrangements for the upcoming event.
From 17 July onwards, four-wheeled vehicles will not be permitted in the East Side Parking Zone. Vehicle owners have been asked to clear the area by that date.

Similarly, access to the West Side Parking Zone will be restricted from 18:00 on the same day. MACL has stated that any vehicles found parked in violation of these restrictions will be towed with the support of the Maldives Police Service.
The notice does not provide a specific date for when parking will resume in these zones, indicating that further updates will be issued in due course.
MACL has apologised for any inconvenience caused and requested the public’s understanding and cooperation during this period.
