PCB Appoints New Managing Director for PSM
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced the appointment of Mohamed Saeed as the new Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM), last night.
This development follows the resignation of the former Managing Director, Zeena Zahir, who stepped down from the position earlier in the day.
Zeena, who had been serving as PSM’s Managing Director since 28 November last year, confirmed her resignation to local media but refrained from disclosing the reasons for her decision.
Mohamed Saeed, the newly appointed Managing Director, previously held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. He was appointed to this role on 9 November 2017, during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
However, between January and April 2019, Saeed faced suspension, followed by his eventual dismissal by the Civil Service Commission. At the time, the commission cited violations of laws and regulations concerning ministry staff during the 2018 presidential election as the reason for these actions.
Saeed had been one of the longest-serving employees at the Ministry of Education by the time of his departure in 2019.
