The Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has unveiled the land use plans for areas designated under the ‘Binvariya’ Scheme.

The newly released land use plans outline the allocation zones, encompassing commercial and industrial areas, spaces dedicated to environmental preservation, and regions reserved for specific environmental purposes. Furthermore, areas designated for sports, recreational activities, and utility services have been clearly delineated.

The Planning Ministry’s prompt release of these land use plans is in accordance with the Decentralization Act, which mandates the preparation of such plans prior to any land utilisation for various purposes.

The government’s commitment to this scheme is evident in its decision to grant land to a significant majority of the applicants, with 97 percent of applicants set to benefit from this allocation. The Ministry is actively engaged in facilitating the land transfer process for those who have been selected to receive land in these designated areas.

A total of 23,088 individuals applied as either single or joint applicants under the Binvariya scheme. Among these applicants, 18,955 met the qualifications, and a total of 9,003 plots are scheduled for allocation.
