Police Arrest Young Woman with 14 Kg of Drugs

Maldives Police Service has arrested a young woman in possession of 14 kilogrammes of drugs during a counter-narcotics operation.
Mariyam Zeena, 23, from Aahiya, HA. Thuraakunu, was taken into custody after the police discovered the drugs in an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase II. The search was conducted on Wednesday under a court order.

Zeena has been remanded in custody for 15 days as investigations continue. The police have not disclosed further details regarding the case.
Three Arrested in Hiyaa Apartment for Drug and Alcohol Possession
In a separate incident, three individuals have been arrested from a Hiyaa apartment in possession of drugs and alcohol.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohamed Rishfan, 28, from Thundi, Milano, L. Gan; Hussain Shiyan, 23, from Mathimaradhoo, Riyaal, L. Gan; and Hawwa Simana, 29, from Thundi, Feeni Villa, L. Gan.

The police carried out a search at Hiyaa Tower 9 last Wednesday under a court order, leading to the discovery of a can and five rubber packets containing substances suspected to be drugs, as well as a 500-millilitre bottle containing a substance suspected to be alcohol.
The court has remanded Rishfan and Shiyan in custody for 15 days, while Simana has been remanded for five days.
Police investigations into both cases are ongoing.
