Commissioner Naveen noted that drug manufacturing, trafficking and the illicit tobacco trade pose serious threats to the Maldives, the wider region and the international community. He underlined the need for immediate intelligence exchange and closer cooperation between member states to address these risks effectively.

He also highlighted the importance of identifying criminal networks operating abroad that finance and coordinate illegal activities within the Maldives. The Commissioner emphasised the need for collaborative operations against foreign criminals and stressed the value of timely and accurate intelligence in disrupting organised crime.

Commissioner Naveen reiterated that the Maldives Police Service will continue to work closely with international law enforcement partners to strengthen national safety and security.
