Maldives Police Service has shared that about 500 vape devices were seized in Malé yesterday during an operation.
In a statement, police said officers recovered 442 vape cartridges, two cartons of cigarettes, shisha puffs and other vaping items during the searches, which were carried out under a court order following an intelligence tip-off.
Authorities said two individuals have been fined in connection with the case, but no arrests have been made.
The seizure comes amid stepped-up enforcement following the vape ban. Earlier this month, customs officers intercepted what authorities described as the largest haul to date, seizing 10,800 vape cartridges from a shipment brought in by sea on 4 December. The shipment was valued at an estimated MVR 2.7 million.
