The delegation, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan, included Superintendent of Police Sultan Ahmed Bishar, Chief Inspector of Police Ibrahim Faiz, and Inspector of Police Mohamed Isham. Their visit focused on building on previous agreements with India’s advanced training institutions, which are set to enhance the MPS’s capacity in specialised investigations, cyber forensics, and intelligence.

As part of these agreements, the Maldives will benefit from high-level training and establishment of an international-class forensic laboratory. The delegation visited key institutions, including the Hyderabad National Police Academy (NPA), the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Gujarat, and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU). These institutions will collaborate with the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement (NCPLE) to provide curriculum accreditation, teacher exchanges, and technical support.
Among the key outcomes of the visit, NFSU proposed the establishment of a campus in the Maldives, while discussions were also held on developing a modern digital forensic laboratory. Additionally, RRU offered scholarships for five MPS officers and outlined courses on financial crimes and maritime security to be taught at both campuses.
