Police Forensic Team Investigates Makunudhoo Cylinder Explosion

A gas cylinder explosion in HDh. Makunudhoo has prompted a thorough investigation by a police forensic team, according to Maldives Police Service (MPS).

The tragic incident unfolded at 4:15 pm yesterday, when a gas cylinder exploded in proximity to the fish market situated on the southern side of the port. Tragically, this explosion resulted in the loss of two lives – both of whom were foreign employees of Bigfish Maldives.

In response to this unfortunate event, the police have deployed a forensic team as well as an investigative team to the scene. 

The explosion had further consequences, as it caused damage to several nearby motorcycles and several boats that were docked in the bay.
