The Maldives Police Service (MPS) kicked off the 106th Camp Furaavaru at Thaa Atoll Vilufushi School today.
The three-day youth camp, co-organised by the Ministry of Education, will be held from today until Monday, April 14, the police said.
According to the police, 90 students from grades 8 to 12 are participating in this camp from Vilufushi School. This is the first Camp Furaavaru of this academic year, the police noted.
The camp is being conducted with the support of Villufushi School, Vilusfushi Council, Vilusfushi Health Center, the FENAKA and Road Development Corporation (RDC) offices in Vilufushi, and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC).

Camp Furaavaru is organised by the Police Crime Prevention and Public Affairs Program. Inspector of Police Hassan Mashroor, who is heading the outreach program, said this camp will be carried out in other schools this academic year as well.
