Police Review Case of Man Who Allegedly Suffered Stroke in Custody

Police are reviewing the case of a man who reportedly suffered a stroke while in custody to determine if negligence was involved.
According to police, the man was arrested in connection with an accident on Fithuroanu Magu in Hulhumale’. The incident occurred when a vehicle travelling from Hulhumale’ Phase II to Phase I collided with a bridge divider.

The man was taken into custody at 10:34 a.m. yesterday and was released at 5:28 p.m. after a urine test returned negative results.
The man’s family has claimed that he suffered a stroke while in custody and that inadequate treatment led to his condition worsening.
Police have stated that they are reviewing the procedures followed during his detention and will take appropriate action if any violations or negligence are identified.
