Police Rule Out Foul Play in Machchangolhi Fall Incident

The Maldives Police Service has ruled out any foul play or involvement of a third party in an incident in which a woman reportedly fell from a building yesterday.

According to police, the incident occurred around 04:00hrs at a residence in the Machchangolhi district of Malé City. The woman, aged 42, is said to have fallen from the second floor of the building. No further personal details about the woman have been disclosed.

Emergency services transported the woman to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where she was treated in the hospital’s Emergency Room. Hospital sources confirmed she sustained significant injuries, including dislocated ankles. Authorities have not released any additional medical information.

In response to media queries, the police confirmed that their investigation into the incident found no evidence to suggest the involvement of another individual.

This marks the second case in recent months in which a woman has fallen from a building in Malé City. A previous incident involving a 21-year-old woman had received widespread national attention.
