The operation, designed to target individuals involved in drug-related crimes including major traffickers, was conducted between 1 and 13 November with the participation of 500 officers from across the country.
According to the Police, the operation covered 39 islands, where officers searched 105 locations, including nine vehicles and one vessel. A total of 110 suspects were arrested, and 29.68 kilos of drugs were recovered during this period.
Police said that urine tests carried out on 61 of the suspects indicated the presence of various narcotics. While 38 individuals were taken before the court for remand hearings, only those assessed as posing a threat to society have been placed in custody.
The Police added that the highest number of officers were deployed simultaneously during the early hours of 13 November. Authorities confirmed that further phases of the ‘Alimagu’ operation are planned for the near future.
