Police Tow 22 Vehicles Over Weekend Amid Traffic Safety Drive

Police have towed 22 vehicles over the weekend in Male’, Hulhumale’, and surrounding areas as part of an ongoing effort to address licence violations and dangerous driving.
According to police statistics, 20 vehicles were seized over the past two days, including 19 motorcycles and one car, while an additional two motorcycles were towed from the city.
Among the seized vehicles, 12 motorcycles and one car were being operated without valid licences. Six motorcycles were removed for dangerous driving, and one motorcycle was impounded for other violations.
Police also issued fines to 30 individuals during the same period, comprising 27 motorcyclists and three car drivers.
Authorities state that dangerous driving continues to pose a serious concern in Male’ and Hulhumale’, where previous incidents have resulted in fatalities. The towing operations and fines form part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen road safety and enforce traffic regulations.
