The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has begun preparations to hand over land plots allocated under the Binveriya Scheme in Hulhumalé Phase III, the company said today.

In a post shared on X, HDC said it is currently conducting surveying works and demarcating plot boundaries in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure to facilitate the handover process.

Hulhumalé Phase III is a major land development project launched in September 2023 during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The project involved the reclamation of approximately 24 hectares of land, which was completed in January.

According to earlier updates from the housing ministry, a draw to allocate plots in the newly reclaimed area was held on December 20 of last year, among eligible recipients who had already been granted land under the scheme.

Authorities have not yet announced a specific timeline for the handover, but said preparatory work is progressing to ensure plots can be allocated and transferred to recipients.

Separately, President Mohamed Muizzu announced last Saturday that land reclamation at Giraavaru Falhu is expected to be fully completed in April, with land plot handovers set to begin in June following the completion of surveying works.
