Presenter Naappe Among Four Arrested in Child Exploitation Case

The Maldives Police Service has arrested four individuals, including presenter Nafiu Rasheed, also known as Baibalaa Naappe’, in connection with a case involving the exploitation of children.

The arrests were made during a search of an apartment in Henveyru, Male’.

Those detained are Ali Ashraf, 35, of M. Ethumaa, Luhan Saeed 45, of Paris, GDh. Vaadhoo, Nafiu Rasheed, 39, of Silver Star, V. Rakeedhoo, and Ibrahim Shinan Ahmed, 33, of Finikuri, Male’.

Police reported that during the search, items suspected to be drugs were discovered in packets. Additionally, police stated that initial tests on the arrested individuals indicated positive results for drug use.

The case involves the exploitation of four children, including two 17-year-old girls and two boys aged 16 and 17.

Following their arrest, the individuals were presented in court, which remanded them for three days.
