President Calls on the Nation to Raise Children Rooted in Islamic Faith and Responsibility
Addressing the 40th-anniversary ceremony of Maafannu Madharusaa, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu urged the nation to unite in raising a generation that is unwavering in its Islamic values, commitment to nationhood, and accountability to the sense of responsibility as Maldivians.
At yesterday’s official ceremony, the President expressed confidence in the nation’s future, noting that the students who presented various proposals at the event were a testament to this promising outlook. During the ceremony, two students requested a hall on the ground floor to ensure easier access for the elderly, and in response, President Dr Muizzu promised that the hall would be completed by 2025.
In addition, the President announced plans to prioritise special needs education in the coming year. He stated that special emphasis would be placed on training and educating teachers to ensure that students with special needs receive equal educational opportunities, further promoting inclusivity within the education system.
President Dr. Muizzu also honoured long-serving staff members of Maafannu Madharusaa, presenting them with service plaques in recognition of their dedication and hard work over the years.
Maafannu Madharusaa, founded on 15th February 1984, originally enrolled students from nursery through grade six and later expanded to include up to grade 10. However, in recent years, the school has refocused its efforts and is now dedicated solely to nursery and preschool-aged children.
