As part of the celebrations, President Muizzu also laid the foundation stone for the Boduthakurufaanu Gate, marking the start of the Ghazee Bandaarain Heritage Revival Project. The event was officiated by the Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim.

The Boduthakurufaanu Gate has been designed to honour the six heroes of Kalhuohfummi, symbolising the revival of Islam, Maldivian culture, and the nation’s independence. Its six pillars, modelled on traditional Maldivian mosque architecture, represent the six heroes, while six lights will illuminate the gate at night to preserve the memory of their service.

The ceremony was attended by the President and First Lady, Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, the Chief Justice of the Maldives, and other senior government officials.
