President Meets the Maldives Senior Citizens Association

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Maldives Senior Citizens Association at the President’s Office yesterday.

During the meeting, the Senior Citizens’ Association of Maldives shared their concerns and challenges with the President. They expressed gratitude for the reopening of “Isravvehinge Naadhee” and discussed ways to enhance its operations and encourage greater senior citizen participation in various programmes. They also highlighted difficulties in securing office space for non-governmental organisations, including their own.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to supporting NGOs, noting that his manifesto includes constructing an office complex to accommodate organisations contributing to national development. He assured that the project would proceed within the Government’s structured budgetary framework.

The association’s members also emphasised the need for greater efforts to foster a more civilised society and expressed their willingness to share their experiences for the country’s benefit. The President outlined the Government’s initiatives to strengthen the social fabric and assured them that their concerns would be addressed.
