President Muizzu announced that MVR 500 million will be allocated each to the health and education sectors in the 2026 State Budget. He also inaugurated the first ice plant established under his Administration’s initiative to revitalise the fishing industry and launched new Bank of Maldives ATM services in Kan’ditheemu. In Goidhoo, he inaugurated the island’s water and sewerage systems.

In Maaun’goodhoo today, President Muizzu revealed plans to upgrade the island’s health centre to a 24-hour facility. According to the President’s Office, the project will include an extension to the existing building, alongside the construction of new facilities for the council, school, police, Centre for the Holy Quran, and a fitness and recreation centre. He said the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) would take over the stalled utility project, while the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) would expedite harbour works.

The President also announced beach development and shore protection measures, as well as plans to include a football field and mosque in next year’s budget.

In Lhaimagu, President Muizzu said the health centre’s services will be extended to 16 hours after the completion of a new building featuring expanded ward space and improved laboratory facilities. He confirmed that work on the health centre, council building, and recreation centre will proceed despite weather-related delays.

Additional initiatives include a new futsal pitch, handball court, and school office building, as well as plans for a harbour, swimming track, and branch of the Centre for the Holy Quran.

President Muizzu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to a citizen-focused governance approach, stating that all ongoing projects will continue as scheduled. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to resume operations at stalled waste management centres in northern islands and to introduce modern digital payment platforms, such as PayPal, for Maldivians.
