President Muizzu Congratulates Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Election Victory

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on its victory in Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Elections.

In a post shared on social media yesterday afternoon, Muizzu extended his “warm regards” to the party and expressed his intention to work closely with the incoming leadership to further strengthen bilateral ties.

“I look forward to working closely together, to further advance and deepen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Bangladesh,” he wrote, adding that he was confident the partnership between the two countries would continue to grow “in scope and strength in the years ahead”.

The Maldives and Bangladesh maintain diplomatic relations across a range of areas, including trade, labour and development cooperation.
