According to the President’s Office, his participation reflects the Maldives’ solidarity with Qatar and reaffirms the country’s commitment to defending the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. It also underscores the Maldives’ call for urgent and collective international action to end the ongoing violence in the region.

The Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit brings together leaders of Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at what officials describe as a pivotal moment for the Islamic world. The gathering serves as a platform to amplify a unified voice in demanding an end to the conflict and to push for concrete international measures to ensure peace and security.
