President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has shared a proposal to develop an environmentally friendly city powered by renewable energy during a meeting with the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Singapore to the Maldives, Soo Kok Leng.
The meeting took place on Tuesday when the High Commissioner paid a courtesy call on the President. According to the President’s Office, the two officials held a constructive discussion on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as higher education, healthcare, and tourism. They also explored opportunities for broader collaboration.
President Dr Muizzu expressed interest in encouraging investment in areas including trade, the economy, and housing. He highlighted the need for technical support in the housing sector and outlined plans for the development of a sustainable city powered by renewable energy.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding strategic cooperation on shared priorities.
