President Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Republic Day, expressing his hopes for enduring peace, happiness, and prosperity in the Maldives.

In a message shared on social media platform X, President Muizzu conveyed his best wishes to the public and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing national development. He said his administration will continue working to achieve the people’s goals while seeking strength and guidance from Allah.

The President also thanked citizens across the Maldives for their support and cooperation, pledging to lead the nation towards progress and unity. He said his government aims to build a future that all Maldivians can take pride in.

Republic Day is celebrated annually on 11 November to commemorate the establishment of the Second Republic in 1968, when the Maldives transitioned from a sultanate to a republic following a public referendum. The day marks a pivotal moment in the nation’s history, symbolising independence, democracy, and self-governance.
