President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met Li Xi, Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, representing President Xi Jinping, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing today.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed his gratitude for the invitation and hospitality, highlighting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit as a valuable platform for engagement. He reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening relations with China across key sectors, emphasising mutual trust and friendship.

Li Xi highlighted the importance of deepening practical cooperation and promoting regional peace and stability as shared priorities in advancing bilateral relations.

The meeting concluded with a banquet hosted by Li Xi in honour of President Muizzu, reflecting the warm ties and mutual respect between the two nations.
