Established in 2019 as a wholly state-owned enterprise, TradeNet Maldives was initially created to serve as a centralised digital platform for business services under a single window operational framework.

According to the President’s Office, the new name reflects the strategic direction outlined in the Maldives 2.0 Roadmap 2025–2028 – Journey to Digital Transformation, which envisions a more innovative and technologically advanced Maldives. The rebranding aligns the company’s identity and mandate with the Government’s broader digital transformation agenda, enhancing its role in driving national initiatives in innovation, technology, and digitalisation.

Last week, the company announced plans to expand its national single window platform, Tradian, to include air services and aircraft registration by the first quarter of 2026. Launched last year to streamline import and export procedures, Tradian initially focused on maritime trade. Since its introduction on 20 April, the platform has registered over 58 shipping agents and 70 freight forwarders.
